Section 1

Listening

30 minutes

  • Part 1 — Short conversations (multiple choice)
  • Part 2 — Announcements & instructions (gap-fill)
  • Part 3 — Academic discussion (matching)
  • Part 4 — Lecture (multiple select)

Section 2

Reading

45 minutes

  • Part 1 — General notices (true/false)
  • Part 2 — Workplace texts (gap-fill)
  • Part 3 — Academic passage (multiple choice)
  • Part 4 — Long passage (matching headings & inference)

Section 3

Writing

50 minutes

  • Task 1 — Summarize/report from a prompt (150+ words)
  • Task 2 — Opinion essay on a given topic (250+ words)
  • Scored by certified examiners against the ENLT rubric
  • Word counter & auto-save in the online editor

Section 4

Speaking

15 minutes

  • Part 1 — Introduction & interview
  • Part 2 — Individual long turn (prompt card)
  • Part 3 — Two-way discussion
  • Part 4 — Opinion & abstract reasoning
Order & timing

On the day

Candidates complete Listening, Reading and Writing in a single continuous session, followed by the Speaking section. Online candidates complete identity and device checks first; center candidates complete on-site identity verification. Section timers are enforced and the online platform auto-saves responses continuously.
