ENLT Examination Rules & Regulations

The rules governing registration, conduct, scoring and certification for the ENLT.

1. Eligibility & registration

Candidates must register with accurate identity information matching a valid government-issued passport or national ID. Identity is verified before every test.

2. Identification

  • A valid, unexpired passport or national ID is mandatory.
  • The name on the certificate matches the registered identity document.
  • Online candidates complete remote identity verification.

3. Conduct during the test

  • Candidates must take the test alone in a private space (online).
  • No external assistance, materials or devices are permitted.
  • Leaving full-screen or switching applications may be flagged.
  • Center candidates must follow invigilator instructions.

4. Scoring & results

Each skill is scored 0–100; the overall score is the mean of the four and is mapped to a CEFR level. Writing and speaking are scored by certified examiners. Results are normally published within 7 business days (72 hours with Express Result).

5. Certificate validity

Certificates are valid for two years from the date of issue. Validity and status can be confirmed at any time via the verification service.

6. Cancellations & refunds

  • Cancellations 14+ days before the test: partial refund less processing.
  • Reschedules are subject to the reschedule fee.
  • No-shows are not refundable.

7. Integrity & sanctions

Confirmed breaches of these rules may result in invalidated results, certificate revocation and exclusion from future testing. Suspicious sessions are reviewed by the integrity office.
